10 Things To Prevent Bed Head
Bed head—it’s that thing hairstylists spend hours styling so it looks good on TV and in the movies. Unfortunately for you, it takes you a full night of sleep. And it (probably) doesn’t look as good.
We know. Life’s not fair.
So, instead of aiming for that awesome Hollywood bed head look, try out these 10 things to keep your hair right where you left it.
1—Satin and Silk Pillow Cases
One of the best surprises we came across while researching bed head were satin pillowcases. We switched over to them and woke up with our hair in the same position as the day before!
We were legitimately impressed! Of all the options we tried on this list, satin worked the best!
(By the way, you can also use a silk pillowcase if you want. We used satin because it was easier on our budgets.)
- Bonus: If you want to go all-out on the silk and satin train, add sheets to your repertoire as well.
2—Straighten Your Hair (Or Put It In A Bun)
For those of you with long hair, try straightening it. For those of you with curls, braid it or put it in a bun. It helps.
3—Wrap It
If you have short hair, you can wrap your head in a t-shirt, towel or bandana.
This also works for wet hair.
4—Pin It Down
Grab some bobby pins and work your way around your head to pin it all down. It’s hard for your hair to go on an adventure when it’s tied down.
5—Top Knot It
If you have long hair, put your hair into a top know. Use a hair band that won’t damage your hair or follicles by pulling too strongly on your hair.
6—Keep Your Hair Dry
The wetter your hair gets, the more pliable it becomes—until it dries.
7—Wash Hair Less Often
Each time you wash and shampoo your hair, it loses natural oils that make it more manageable, especially when you use products that contain harsh cleaning products, like sulfates and parabens.
8—Use A Humidifier
More moisture in the air means less bed head in the morning. Usually.
9—Brush Hair Before Bed
Use a hairbrush before bed to keep that wild mane tame in the morning.
This also works for beards if you use a beard brush.
10—Use Puretanica Cool Bliss Shampoo and Conditioner
They contain all-natural ingredients that hydrate and moisturize your hair. Plus, they’re sulfate-free and paraben-free.
